Using our GIS technology we have been able to accurately map out environmental constraints and provide this information to civil engineers to determine if a parcel is reasonably developable. While GIS mapping is not as accurate as professional survey, results can be obtained very quickly.
On a recent project in Surrey we mapped out the top of bank using our Trimble R1 GNSS receiver, converted the shapefile for use by the civil engineer, and had answers for our client in less than 24 hours.
This top of bank was later professionally surveyed, confirming that our data was appropriate for preliminary project planning.
